Do you remember when was the first time you heard about Bitcoin? You’ve probably gone through a unique journey since then. Whether you’re a Bitcoin OG or a newbie, Bitcoin means something different for all of us. For me, the beauty of Bitcoin lies in its tested resiliency and simplicity. I think Bitcoin perfectly sits at the intersection of engineering, finance and energy. It is the greatest discovery of the last 100 years. Thank you Satoshi for this gift, now it’s our mission to unlock the true value of the Bitcoin protocol.
My Bitcoin journey has allowed me to open my eyes to the society we live in and the forces that are shaping it. It’s been more than 5 years now that Bitcoin is on my mind, and every day I question myself about its impact on us and what will Bitcoin look like in the future. My special skillset due to my Engineering and Finance background allows me to understand the energy infrastructure, the nature of Money, and the pivotal role Bitcoin can play in this.
I got introduced to crypto 5 years ago with Ethereum mining, and later Bitcoin. I’ve seen the industry moving from hobbyist to well-capitalized and more efficient corporations. I visited warehouses full of miners. Even though I think these mining facilities are a net positive for the Bitcoin cause, I couldn’t believe that this was the ideal state. All I was seeing was a tremendous amount of wasted heat, inefficient operations, and centralized hashrate which goes against the Bitcoin philosophy. Centralized because only few players are controlling a substantial part of the hashrate and also because huge energy consumers at a specific location on a grid can cause headaches for an electric utility.
I couldn’t help myself to think that this can be improved, but how? If people are presented the right incentive, they will want to be part of it. I wanted to create that incentive and help people join the movement. This is how Constellation Heating was born.
