These terms are an agreement between you and Constellation Heating Inc. (“Constellation,” “we,” “us”), a company based in Quebec, Canada. They cover three things: the Constellation heater (the “Heater”), the Constellation mobile application (the “App”), and the managed mining service through which your Heater earns Bitcoin (the “Mining Service”). By installing the App, running the Heater, or configuring payouts, you accept these terms.
Our privacy policy explains what data is involved. It is part of these terms.
1. What you are getting
The Heater is an immersion-cooled Bitcoin mining appliance whose waste heat is delivered to your pool or heating loop. It heats when it mines. You control it with the App, on your home network or remotely.
- The Heater keeps heating and protects itself without any connection to our servers.
- The App requires no account. Your phone and your Heater identify each other with keys held on each device.
- The Mining Service runs your Heater’s miners through a pool subaccount that Constellation manages for that Heater at Luxor, our pool partner, and pays your share to the Bitcoin address you choose.
2. Installation and first start
The Heater is a sealed oil-immersion system connected to mains electricity and to a water loop. It must be installed by a qualified professional, following the Installer Guide and the local electrical and plumbing codes that apply to you.
You must contact Constellation before running the Heater for the first time. We confirm with you or your installer that the installation is complete and correct (electrical supply, water loop, oil fill, sensors, network) before the Heater is switched on. Running the Heater before that check voids the warranty in section 9.
Never open the casing, never top up or drain the oil, and never attempt repairs yourself. Service belongs to Constellation technicians or the partners we certify.
3. Certification
The Heater is built from UL certified components: the mining hardware, the power supplies, and the electrical parts each carry their own listing. The assembled Heater as a whole is not certified by UL, CSA, or any other testing laboratory at this time.
This is why professional installation and the pre-start check in section 2 are conditions of the warranty rather than recommendations. Your electrician or inspector may require additional measures for an uncertified assembly, and it is your responsibility to confirm that installing and operating the Heater is permitted where you live. We will update this section if the assembled product obtains a certification.
4. The App and remote access
- You may install the App on the phones you use to operate your own Heater. Each phone must be added through the Heater’s setup process.
- Remote access runs over an encrypted private network that Constellation operates. We grant each phone access to its own Heater only, and we may suspend a phone’s access if it is reported lost or if we detect abuse.
- Constellation support may connect to your Heater over that network to troubleshoot a problem you report or a safety event the Heater reports. We use that access for support only.
- We may update the Heater’s software automatically to fix defects, improve safety, or add features. Updates install during a window the Heater chooses, and the Heater rolls back on its own if an update fails.
- You may not reverse engineer, interfere with, or bypass the Heater’s safety protections, its access controls, or the Mining Service.
5. The Mining Service and payouts
When you set up payouts in the App, you accept the fee terms below. The App records which version you accepted. The current version is 2026-07-cloud-v2.
- Pool fee. Luxor operates a Full-Pay-Per-Share pool and charges a pool fee, currently 3%, which it applies as a discount on the price it pays for your Heater’s hashrate. Your subaccount balance is already net of that fee.
- Constellation’s share. Of what your subaccount earns, 97% is paid to your Bitcoin address and 3% to Constellation’s address. Your Heater verifies this split itself before it starts mining and stops if the split does not match.
- Payout schedule and minimum. You choose weekly, on a day you pick, or monthly. A payout is sent only when the balance exceeds Luxor’s minimum of 0.001 BTC plus its withdrawal fee. Otherwise the balance rolls into the next cycle at no cost.
- Withdrawal fee. Each payout that executes carries Luxor’s flat withdrawal fee, currently 0.000075 BTC.
- Changes freeze funds briefly. After you change your address or schedule, Luxor holds the balance for 24 hours as a security measure, which can delay the next payout.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the Bitcoin address you enter. Bitcoin transactions cannot be reversed. Constellation cannot recover funds sent to an address you entered incorrectly or no longer control.
If we change the fee terms, the App will ask you to accept the new version before they apply. Until you do, your existing terms remain in force.
6. Mining income is not guaranteed
What your Heater earns depends on the Bitcoin price, the network difficulty, the block subsidy, transaction fees, your electricity cost, and how many hours the Heater runs. All of these change and none is under our control. Any figure we publish, including our online calculator, is an estimate from the assumptions shown, not a promise of income. Bitcoin is a volatile asset and you are responsible for any tax that applies to what you receive.
7. Your responsibilities
- Pay for the electricity the Heater consumes. Nothing in these terms offsets that cost.
- Provide the Heater with a working internet connection. Without one it still heats, but it cannot mine, receive updates, or send alerts.
- Keep the phones that operate the Heater secure, and remove a phone you no longer control from the Heater.
- Respond to safety alerts. The Heater shuts itself down on overheating and other faults, and it needs you or a technician to acknowledge and resolve the cause.
- Use the Heater only as intended: to heat water or a heating loop in the conditions described in the product documentation.
- Comply with the laws that apply to you, including any rule on cryptocurrency mining or on the receipt of Bitcoin where you live.
8. Ownership transfer and ending the service
- If you sell or give away the Heater, factory reset it first. That removes your phones and your payout configuration. The new owner sets it up as new and enters their own Bitcoin address.
- You can stop using the Mining Service at any time by factory resetting the Heater. Mining stops and no further payouts are sent. The Heater cannot heat without mining, so this also stops heating.
- We may suspend the Mining Service for a Heater that is being used in breach of these terms, that has been tampered with, or where required by law or by our pool partner. Any balance already earned is still paid out under the schedule you chose.
- If Constellation stops operating the Mining Service, we will give you at least 90 days’ notice and pay out any remaining balance above the minimum.
9. Limited warranty
Constellation warrants the Heater against defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the date the Heater is delivered to you.
During that year, if the Heater fails because of a covered defect, we repair it or replace the defective part, at our choice and at no charge for parts and labour. Contact us at [email protected] with your Heater’s identifier from the App and a description of the problem. We will tell you whether the repair happens on site or requires the Heater to be returned.
The warranty is void if:
- The Heater was run before Constellation confirmed the installation (section 2). This is a complex machine and a wrong installation can damage it in minutes. The first start must be checked with us.
- The Heater was installed by someone other than a qualified professional, or not in accordance with the Installer Guide.
- The casing was opened, the oil was topped up, drained, or replaced, or a repair was attempted by anyone Constellation has not authorized.
- The Heater’s software, safety protections, or access controls were modified or bypassed.
- The damage results from an accident, misuse, flooding, lightning, an unsuitable electrical supply, freezing, or a water loop that does not meet the product documentation.
The warranty does not cover normal wear, cosmetic damage, or consumables. It does not cover Bitcoin income lost while the Heater is out of service, whether or not the repair is covered.
This warranty gives you specific rights. Consumer protection laws where you live, including the Quebec Consumer Protection Act, may give you additional rights that these terms do not reduce.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Constellation is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost mining income, the value of Bitcoin, electricity costs, or damage caused by an installation or modification we did not perform or approve. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Heater, the App, or the Mining Service is limited to the price you paid for the Heater. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes are brought before the courts of Quebec. If you live in the United States or another Canadian province, the consumer protection laws of your home jurisdiction still apply where they cannot be waived.
12. Changes
We will update the date at the top of this page when these terms change. A change to the fee terms in section 5 is presented to you in the App for acceptance. The current version is at www.constellationheating.com/terms.
